✓ How much will my house construction project cost?
Home construction project costs depend on where the home is built, the level of finish (tiles, moldings, window quality, etc.), and the site.

To get an accurate estimate of the overall construction, purchase a set of plans and present them to your trusted builders for bids.

✓ What modifications can I make to a house plan?
All stock house plans are modifiable. Some of the most requested modifications are:

• Removal of windows, chimneys, false attics.
• Converting garages from 2 to 3 cars
• Reconfiguration of kitchen cabinets and appliances
• Reorganization of interior walls
• Change the height of the ceilings
• Changes to exterior surfaces (brick, siding, stucco)
• Exterior wall frame replacement
• Changing a foundation type
• Changing the pitch of a roof
• Relocating garage door openings / adding or removing bays
• Change the location of the garage entrance
• Adding or removing a room (this would involve changes to all aspects of a plan: elevations, floor plans, roof, foundation, and sections)
• Stretch or reduce the square footage of a plan
• Add an extra room

Most modifications can be made simply by adjusting existing plans. Other modifications require a more comprehensive redesign of the home.

Modifications can cost $1,000 or more, but represent a significant savings compared to creating a new plan from scratch.

The total surface area only includes conditioned space and does not include garages, porches, additional rooms, or terraces.
